PROGRAMS
P.E.A.C.E: (Peace through Education Acceptance Courage and Expression) Was co-created by with the esteemed Gianna Allentuck for k-5 students at Elias Brookings Elementary school and Maurice "Soulfighter" Taylor to ease the pain and suffering of students living in the most violent areas of Springfield, Ma at that time. The workshop was created to introduce student to their voices and empower them to use them through imagery and plating sees of belonging, connecting, and giving meaning to their voice and existence.
P.E.A.C.Eful: A community Poetry/ Hip Hop Workshop extends from the P.E.A.C.E program created by Maurice Taylor and Gianna Allentuck to teach Elementary students to express themselves through Poetry and Hip Hop. The purpose of this program is to teach youth and adults the art of Evoking the past to change the future through Poetry,HipHop, and cultural expression to create or impact social justice movements.
POETIC RECOVERY: Poetic Recovery was started around 2006 as an open mic to give conscious rap artists a place to express themselves. It grew to an open mic and has now become a multifaceted platform.
Mission: To encourage healing from trauma amongst Black and Brown people and our allies via cultural expression and civic engagement to counteract the exploitation and oppression of Black and Brown culture that encourages self destruction of our communities. As well as developing artists and echoing and showcasing the works of artists in our networks.
POETIC RECOVERY RADIO: extends from Poetic Recovery Open created by Maurice "Soulfighter" Taylor to echo artists that support POETIC RECOVERY open mic, and other conscious artists who submit their oral cultural presenations to encourage healing from all trauma in our society rather domestic or social politically motivated that manifest in addiction and alcoholism.
